My name is Angus, and I started Ceaseless because I got tired of paying too much for things that weren't worth it.
Like most men, I spent years buying cartridge razors and canned foam that cost more than they should and did less than they promised. The shaving industry has built an entire business model around selling you something disposable, charging a premium for it, and making sure you need another one in a few weeks. I wasn't interested in that anymore.
When I got into wet shaving I started looking for a proper brush. Something with a real handle, made from a real material, that would actually last. What I found in Australia was mostly mass produced handles made from plastic or resin, often shipped from overseas, with little thought given to the craft or the material. For something people use every single morning, that felt like a missed opportunity.
So I decided to make my own.
I bought a lathe, taught myself to turn timber, and got to work. Using Australian hardwood felt like the obvious choice. Jarrah and Tasmanian Blackwood are extraordinary materials, dense and beautiful, and every piece of timber is different. No two handles come out looking the same, which is the whole point. You end up with something that is genuinely yours.
Every Ceaseless brush handle is turned and finished by hand, one at a time, in Werribee, Victoria. The knots are sourced for performance rather than price. The soaps are made in small batches with natural ingredients. The razor is a proper double edge safety razor that takes blades costing fifty cents each and is built to last a lifetime.
The idea behind all of it is pretty straightforward. Buy better things, less often. Stop wasting money on plastic that ends up in landfill. Take two extra minutes in the morning and actually enjoy your shave.
